Thoughts: As said before, not a fan of sequels but this one makes me excited!  I'm really liking the look of the new casting (especially Yoyo Mung!!!!)! hehe..new image for Tavia too o.O  The hideous wig once again returns to haunt us....haha luckily this is only her undercover costume?  Wonder what her CID image look like :)  Absolutely love Yoyo's image!

I'm surprise Stephen Au is in here!  And I like Oceane Zhu too :D  Haha Jonathan Cheung (Fan Gan) is also in here.  Wonder how big their roles are going to be :)

I absolutely loved A Great Way to Care...so I hope the sequel does not fail (?). On the downside...I hate love triangles. Ugh...to be honest, I wish Tavia was not in here :P Haha...I like TAvia though, I really do...but since she in HC2 and then that series with Michael, Justice Attack...so we'll be seeing her in 2 professional roles already....weird.  I loved her so much when she was in her supporting roles, but now...the feeling is slowly dispersing....ugh, why?! -.-  Maybe I want her back in her ancient roles...I liked those.

Random Entry: Tvb Thoughts

**** Some fans might not want to read this because....of some negative opinions that are involved on different artistes. But please do understand these are just my own thoughts and opinion. Thank-you ^^ ****

I find expressing my feelings is better than bottling them in because the more I think of it to myself, the more negative I get about things. So now here it is, how I've been feeling about tvb for the last year. I know some I've always mentioned before....but eh, I'm just going to write them again =)

As everybody have seen recently (...or way before that), blogger by blogger have been slowly disappearing from the tvb community. It is really sad but I guess change is inevitable. Everybody grew up in a different time, and no matter if it's true or not, tvb can get either worse or better for them. Each generation have their own viewpoint, and I guess everybody loves what they grew up to see. Perfect example? Me and my parents. I cringe while watching old series with them because it's not what I am used to. I mean.....watching people I don't know...? I guess I'm just not use to it... They always say that TVB back then (in their time....so who knows how long it was ago xP) was much better...and either true or not, I do not think like them. Now, some of us are saying tvb is degrading....while others say they are still good, I guess it's just the same situation as me and my parents....

So now, let's begin with how I feel about TVB...

What Makes Someone Interested in a Series?

I've been thinking of an answer for the question above, and honestly.....what do YOU think? Main ingredients for a series is it's casts and storyline/script. So, do you guys watch a series for it's casts, storyline/script....or something else? I personally think the storyline/script is the much more important thing to look forward to, but my biases for my favourite artistes seems to have the power over my own mind. I wish I did not care about who's in what series, but that is somewhat impossible as I'm one of those human beings who wants to see their idols everywhere xP

Everybody have their own favourite idols, and I think the casts is a really important selling point for a series because it's just a fact that a series popularity has alot to do with that. Take Gun Metal Grey and Can't Buy Me Love for example, both are grand productions but why do people want to watch Can't Buy Me Love more? I don't think it's the stories or different genres that attracts the audience more, but it's the casts. Can't Buy Me Love have such an astounding cast!! If you can imagine the two series switching casts, the series would definitely turn out with different results.

Can the casts guarantee a good storyline/script though? That's a definite no. Look at what happened to Mysteries of Love. I know some people really loved the series, but there were also some that were quite disappointed. First, it had a boring storyline/script, which resulted in boring characters.....even worse, overused love story which resulted in a drag. I can't find how people liked Kingsley other than the fact the actor who played it was Raymond Lam (which is probably the main reason). Honestly, I can say I like Raymond Lam but can never ever say I like Kingsley because to me, his character is just completely boring. Mysteries of Love has such a strong cast but yet a weak storyline and characters. And that is probably tvb's biggest issue right now.

To me, you can attract as many audiences as you can with a super awesome casts, but is that really enough? How do you keep the audiences attention? Maybe using Raymond Lam can help a bit....but is it really going to work forever? If tvb can't create good scripts with nice (refreshing) storylines, it's popularity 'can' maintain....but it will never boost up and most likely will fall.

A great example of a good storyline is really essential to a good series is A Great Way to Care. Though the casts aren't that appealing and I must say, the two leads weren't really my cup of tea, but the storyline totally made the series worth it. The acting weren't that great because to me, Alex always seems to have the same expression and looks kinda boring, while Kate still have to brush up on her acting skills. Kate have a really distinct look (especially her eyes) that makes her special, but acting wise, I still think she have to work on her expressions, crying and the way she speaks her lines (more feelings?). Overall though, that did not prevent me from loving the series as it was one of my favourites because the story is intriguing, refreshing and not draggy.

Instead of getting all the casts and making the series all nice and beautiful, I think tvb should also give a bit more time into their scripts. It's sad to see that there are some of the talented who are either not promoted or are given badly written characters.

Quick Talk of Comedies
I want the sweet and 'actually funny' comedies that doesn't have rap or goofy exaggerations but actual something I call wit back in tvb. Especially with the ancient comedies. I mean....singing rap? Really? Did wrap really exist back then? What about the fighting scenes? It's ridiculous how some of the fighting in tvb are nowadays. Not so long ago, remember Devil's Disciples? The fighting in there....with the running and effects were just totally embarrassing. Though there were some good comedies, the memories of the rap and lame effects with all the dancing just can't be forgotten.

Comments of Artistes

Getting promoted is good, but of course there are also cons to that.

Also the overused of characters for the artistes. I know Moses got popular after Heart of Greed for his comedic roles, but why does tvb keep on giving him those roles? I admit I loved him in all his roles though, but to see his characters so limited and similar really annoys me. It can work for some artistes but definitely not for most. I would want to see him back into some of the more serious roles (like in Perish in the Name of Love) or at least away from comedic just for a bit because the more comedic roles he play, the more I find his acting to be similar to each other. How can a artiste be proven versatile when they don't have the chance to play more than one kind of character? Luckily he got a good role of a murderer now and no more news of comedic roles.

Something else that I'd like to talk about is the over promotion. We all know the two that got deservable recognition during the last two years, Wayne Lai and Michael Tse. These two were parts of my favourite supporting group. Let's talk about Wayne first though. I bet everybody is happy for him and so am I. His career is definietly going great with the leading roles he's getting and really lucky for such good roles too. I don't exactly have any complaints....it's just that I want to see him more. I know...a bit selfish here, but since he got leading roles, I can't see him in most series anymore. To me, Wayne always highlight the series he's in, no matter if the story is good or bad. We all have seen his stupid, smart, evil, serious, goofy and many more sides. That was something I found so special about Wayne. No matter what character, I cannot help but love him. A supporting character's advantage is the versatile of characters they can play....and the disadvantage of a leading role is the limited of characters.

Michael Tse's fame shot straight up after his role in EU. Same as the others, I loved him in there and thinks he really deserved the recognition. Sadly though, I do not think Michael can lead a series. Is it the bad characters he've been receiving?? Maybe. But also the feeling of seeing Michael onscreen. Unlike Wayne, I just can't 'see' Michael leading. Michael also does not do well in serious characters. I think he's best in comedic roles and would love to see him back in his old roles because I really miss the old Michael.

Ok, now let's talk about Kenneth Ma. This guy have been really lucky with the amount of roles he've played. Though he might not officially be a leading actor, but in my opinion, he's so much luckier than them. Some people are just straightly promoted before they can actually try a different number of roles and in the end, do not have the experience. Kenneth is lucky though, as he got a variety of roles and even now when he's leading, he doesn't get caught in one role. He reminds me of Wayne Lai alot because of that, and I guess that's one of the many reasons why I love him so much! I remember reading at Hyn5's that Kenneth wanted to be like Benz Hui, who's also one of my favourite supporting actors ;)

A Great Way to Care' Rating Peaks 35 Pts

Filmed in 2008 and released abroad, TVB drama "A Great Way to Care" finally got to air in Hong Kong and has been receiving good ratings. Its premier week got 29 points on average and its second week got an average of 31 points, even peaking 35 points.

Yesterday cast of the drama Kate Tsui, Vivien Yeo, and Raymond Wong attended to another promotion event. Male lead of the drama Alex Fong Chung Sun was again absent. Kate disclosed Alex is currently in Mainland and she is rushing him to return Hong Kong soon.

Year End Round Up 09 verion 2....more detailed ;)

2009 Highlights

Rosy Business
I'm pretty sure that this series is quite popular to everybody here. One of the greatest hits of 2009 that had one the title Best Series and gave the leading actress and actor the award Best Actress and Best Actor of 2009 at the tvb award ceremony. I absolutely agree with the awards and was extremely happy.

Rosy Business was an engaging series that I was really into during 2009. It was highly anticipated because it was Wayne's first leading role and not to mention his costar is Sheren Tang. I knew the acting was going to be good but I didn't know that the storyline was so great as well. I remember watching each episode and would be wanting for another one. The story surprised me and it was quite refreshing to see too. Now in 2010, it is to release another series with the same cast (I don't think we can really call it a sequel?) and the trailer looks really interesting basing on the Japanese war time. Going to be released in October, I really looking forward to it!

EU (Emergency Unit)
Another engaging series of the year. I personally think that EU along with Rosy Business are the 2 greatest series of the year. I remember the beginning of last year was quite depressing for me. During that time, I had nothing to watch due to the only series that were out there were ones I didn't like. At first, I didn't intend to watch EU because I wasn't really into cops stories (they usually bore me for some reason) and won't say that it's sequel was one of my fav either. But then....one day I saw my parents was watching it...and they asked me where to watch eng subs....figure out that they couldn't wait for the viet subs....because they were kinda caught by it xD

I then started watch likng it myself...and still remember the time when the first thing I did when I got home was to watch it....think I was on ep9 at that time. Though the story is kinda vague to me right now, I know that it was really good and I gripped on to each episode.

Hype of Chai Kau and Laughing Gor
Was I 'that' hyped about them? Well...no. I thought the were great and well-written character and also the fact that Wayne Lai and Michael Tse finally got their recognition over these years was really really well deserved, I wasn't as craze as other fans have been =)

D.I.E Again
It was an entertaining and comedic series. At first I didn't finish it because my interest kinda faded away but then after hearing many good stuff about it, I decided to watch it again. Haha, I really really enjoyed it. it was a good comedy and I absolutely love the new supporting casts, Him Law, Macy Chan, Zac Kao and Jessie Sum. They gave a refreshing cast to the audience and were all really cute characters. Of course you cannot forget the leader of the DIE group, Lo Sir acted by Samuel Kwok Fung!! he was absolutely hilarious in there! This is a good comedy series if you are looking for one^^

Charmaine Sheh and Dayo Wong
Charmaine Sheh and DAyo Wong as the refreshing new couple in You're Hired. I thought the series itself was good and entertaining but won't be without this couple! I'm a big fan of Dayo and absolutely love him with every series. I never get bored of his roles even though they always resemble each other. I love how he always only way the same shirt, sweater and everything during the whole entire series! Charmaine was given a refreshing character in here that I've not seen her act before. She usually plays dramatic characters so I'm happy to see this comedic side of her ;) And her wardrobe was absolutely fantastic!! I love all of her clothings so much and wish that I could own them too xD Together, they made this cutest pairing that I don't think I'll ever forget. Especially with the sweet scenes they shared...if only they had even more and more!!

A Great Way to Care
Ok not an absolutely must watch but I must say it was pretty good (main characters....were quite boring though). The stories in here were interesting and refreshing to see. I remember I was totally into it. You can see more my thoughts on it through these old posts. I never did a review on it though, mostly scenes of Raymond and Vivien. Here.

Series that were'nt that great..
Dislikes: -Wong Hei's stubborn personality. -Love triangle between Myolie, Wong Hei and Kevin...absolutely draggy. -Middle part of the series....where there was no Wong Hei D=

The beginning of the series was actually good but then the middle sucked the life out of the series because it only talked about the love triangle. Gladly, near the ending it got better ;)

Greatness of a Hero
I expected too much and didn't got enough back. When I first started, the themesong captured my heart, but then as the story continues...it got quite boring. For some reason I really didn't like Kent...his expressions are somewhat the same to me. But then I really liked Sunny and Bernice as a pair. I was so sad how Sunny just dies like that!!! Really!? That's the best they could do for his death? Then there was Sonija, her ending was so sad. Her scene in jail and execution is the most memorable to me.

Series that I did not Watch

- The Threshold of a Persona Why? Didn't found the storyline to be interesting....
-Born Rich Why? Watched Beyond instead....
-In the Chamber of Bliss Why? I usually not interested in period dramas....but then I've heard that this series was quite good. I might watch it in the future. Any opinions on this?
-The Stew of Life Why? I didn't find the genre interesting....and for some reason I'm never really interested in Louis Lee.
-Just Love 2 Why? No interest.

Started But Never Finished

-The King of The Snooker Why? I can't even remember....
-The Gem of Life Why? Watched it but stopped because 1)the business bored me and 2) wayyy to long for me. I think the only series I can watch that long are comedy ones....aka sitcoms.
-A Bride for A Ride Why? Got to silly and uninteresting (after Sammul's girl identity was revealed) for me...-Sweetness in the Salt Why? I can't remember....I do know I did watch the ending though, but that was all..
-Man in Charge Why? Can't remember either...
-The Winter Melon Tale Why? No point...lame.

OMG I just found out I already did a post of 2009 stuff HERE so...this post is just going to be the more 'detailed' version of it ;)

Year End Round Up 09

I can't believe how fast time goes! Technically this isn't the 'end' of the year yet, but still it is since the TVB awards are over.

TVB Horizon's Hits!!!!!!

On December 10th TVB Horizon had reached 12 683!! I kinda missed the 10 000 but Thanks so much for all the hits guys xD I really appreciate for all the visits. Hope you guys will continue to come and support TVB Horizon!

*Bold and cross out are the series I've watched and finished.
*Half crossed out are the ones I didn't finish.
*Small ones that are not bold nor cross out are the ones I never started.

Hm, I think this year is ok but the surprise of EU and RB with Beyond made it became a good one xD I never expected EU to be good but it proved me wrong. RB...haha, I only anticipated for Wayne and never thought it to be such a great one! Beyond is kinda obvious so I won't comment xD

Other surprises also include A Great Way to Care and DIE Again. First of all, if you look at Great Way's poster you'd think it will be a really boring series like I did. But if you give it a try, it will become a pretty good one. I truly enjoyed it with the scenes between Raymond and Vivien and all the interesting cases.

DIE Again. To tell you guys something, when the prequel of it came out (DIE), I did not watch it until my sister made me. I didn't thought it would be interesting and that's also the same thing I did to the sequel, DIE Again. After reading reviews from others though, I changed my opinion and began to watch it. It was a great series with great comedy!

Haha, I haven't mentioned YH yet?? To me the series with Dayo in it is perfect xD Not to mention the lovely pairing between him and Charmaine! The story mostly revolves around them and not too much about other characters but they were just so cute together to complain xD Haha, great comedy between these two xD

Burning Flames 3 had a pretty good start but it drags on and on in the middle :/ The only thing I like are the fire scenes xD

I can't really remember much from Sweetness in the Salt :( Only the part where Raymond died!!

Man in Charge and Greatness of the Hero is consider ok. I'd say I like the Greatness of the Hero more though. The most touching scene to see in there was when Sonija got executed. Technically, she chose to die in order for Lee Heung Kam and Bernice Liu to live. It was so sad when she started to recite the poem of hers and Kent. I also like Bernice and Sunny cause I think they were cute together but Sunny's death was so...argh!!! They could could've made a better death!!!

Raymond & Vivien <3

This post should of been wriiten days ago.......but I was just being lazy^^

Spoilers Alert!!!!

Ok......I finished A Great Way to Care a few days ago, and while I watched it, I gradually fell in love with the pairing of Raymond & Vivien^^ So, here are some scenes of them.........

This part is after the part Raymond finally broke up with his girlfriend. I really love the scene where they are dancing together^^ but after this, Vivien suddenly noticed her feelings for Raymond, so decided to leave him.

I LOVE RAYMOND SO MUCH!!!!!!! It's so cute how he wrote a blog on the internet, hoping that Vivien would read it and come back. He even bought her the dress she wanted, and waiting for her to return.

This part tells how Vivien became thinner and came back to find Raymond, but she didn't tell him that she is the "fat girl". She didn't do that because she wanted to see if he would still like her if she was fat. Of course, Raymond don't know, and is still waiting.....

In this part, Raymond already know Vivien was actually the "fat girl". She is also the daughter of a millionaire, and she wants him to go help her father with the business in Singapore but he rejected it. For that reason, it caused this fight between them.

After the fight, Vivien decided to stay with Raymond instead of her dad. Seeing that, Raymond decided to gave up his doctor carreer for Vivien......and in the end, Raymond became the boss in Singapore, with Vivien as his wife.

Raymond's Tears???
Ok.....Raymond was crying because he got a letter from Vivien, saying that she will be marrying her new boyfriend. Haha....of course though, it was just a prank on Raymond^^ Poor Raymond, he was so sad :(

A Great Way to Care Funny Scenes 1 (some spoilers)

So way behind on A Great Way to Care!!!! Only up to episode 12 right now :( ..............but here are some scenes that I thought was quite funny ^^

Haha....in this scene, Raymond's expression was so cute^^

I think that guy who is driving is Cheung Chi Kwong right??? Well, I've liked him since Safe Guards, and also really like him in here too^^ In this scene, he wanted to beat this other psychiatrist, so he sped up his car.......but when he thought he won, his car broke down and the other guy zoom past him....haha. Really love his expressions on the wheel there^^

Was surprised by Raymond's actions in here, since he was so calm before. I might be surprise, but I was so happy when he did that^^ and his girlfriend totally deserve that. This is so far my favourite scene of Raymond's^^

A Great Way to Care Theme Caps

Notes: At first, I didn't have any hopes for this series since it looks boring but to my surprise, I actually really like this series. I've watched up to episode 9 right now and think the series quite interesting. All the cases so far are well done and I hope that it will continues to be like that.
