Growing Though Life Ep1/2

I really didn't listen to the poll did I? When I posted up this poll, I've received some feedbacks about the series, and apparently heard abit about Bosco's evil character. That is the reason why in the end, I decided to watch Growing Through Life. I've already finished 2 episodes and to my surprise, I did enjoy them. After When Lanes Merge I didn't feel like watching anything so I took a little break, and it's good to start watching something again.

I feel like Growing Through Life was going at quite a slow pace, but I wasn't as impatient as before, so I didn't skipped through anything xD Now here are my thoughts so far...

I really like Damien's character. I don't believe he is a greedy business men, but instead, he really cares for Raymond. He can be just a bit strict and stubborn to show it. When Raymond's mom says to him that he owned her, I wonder what that was about. I'm really, really looking forward to more of his character.

Raymond's character is nice person who loves his family very much but holds a really big grudge against his uncle, Damien. I find Raymond's to be alright. I actually enjoy his stubbornness, but also think he's a bit childish because of that. He lets his emotions get over him to easily and that ended up hurting him more. Also another bad factor to be a business man, he trusts people too much and I really don't know if that's good or bad. There's another fact I like about him though. I really like his optimism. When his factory was bought my Damien, (it took him a bit of time to think) but he still knew that he still couldn't let go, but still try his hardest to keep the factory going. I look forward to his growth of character and also as a business man.

Damien's and Raymond's relationship is interesting to see. Both of them are stubborn so that just really increases their misunderstandings. I am looking forward to how they're going to solve

I also really like Cecelia Cheung's character. While Damien's the stricter one, she's the more relaxing character. It's good to see she's always there to talk sense into Damien. They make a nice husband and wife. My fav part so far of hers was when she thought Toby was going to bring home a boyfriend. Haha, she was so excited.
that.

Toby plays as Damien's and Cecelia's daughter and is quite naive person. Her biggest wish is for Raymond and Damien to clear their misunderstandings and become family again. She is alright to me, sometimes I find her expressions to be a bit dull, but still ok.

For some reason, I really don't like Raymond's girlfriend. I find her expression to be somewhat the same every time...and there's just something I don't like about her.

Bosco is Dominic Lam's son and also Raymond's friend. Even though he've only appeared for a short 3-5 mins in episode 2, I'm already liking him very much. He seems really smart and a looks like a really sweet talker as well xD I really do look forward how his character turns evil and his relationship with the other mainland actress.

Familiar Clothings #1

I knew there was something familiar when I saw Tavia's pants. Haha, they were also worn by Linda in Yes, Sir No Sir^^ I think the belts were diff. though.

The Comeback Clan Synopsis

Severely hit by the financial turmoil in Hong Kong, TAI KU-TUNG’s (Ha Yu) restaurant is running short of capital while YIP MO-SING (Hui Shiu Hung) is interested in acquiring the restaurant’s location. Heso decides to invest in it, ignorant of the restaurant’s financial situation.

With the restaurant’s problem temporarily solved, TUNG concentrates on working out new dishes and ideas for the restaurant. He discovers TSUI HEI-HEI (Sheung Tin Ngor), a novice cook with a signature egg fried rice recipe. She even wins the appreciation of the Michelin food critic experts. As a result, TUNG treats her extremely well.

One day, a bank representative, LEI YUNG-CHI (Ng Wing Mei) pops into the restaurant and claims that HEI has a debt with the bank. She picks a fight with CHI in a heated argument. In the fight, HEI is injured and loses her memory.

For fear of losing the restaurant’s reputation, TUNG decides to put on a show and pretends to be HEI’s elder brother while SING acts as her husband. Cello teacher YIP TSIK-LEUNG (Sammul Chan) plays HEI’s son and his girlfriend, TAI YING-LEI (Natalie Tong) is assigned the role of HEI’s cousin.

In the meantime, YUNG is fired from the bank but now claims that she is a shareholder and plans to reform the entire restaurant. Now, all three owners want to make changes but all have different ideas for the restaurant. A triangular power struggle develops in the processes.

Credits Astro On demand

At first, I didn't find any interest in this series....but then I saw Sammul's and Natalie's name together xD I want to see them together! But then where is Shirley and Toby because they were at the costume fitting. Then when I looked at the cast list on astro....saw Shirley's name, but no Toby (unless I didn't recognize it....). Now...is Natalie replacing Toby then? (if yes, then I probably missed the news). Or did they just wrote Natalie instead of Toby? This is confusing me...

Beside that whole thing above, I'm actually quite interested in the story too. And the food...

Mysteries of Love Overview - Finale

Now let's go on with the cases....
I'm horrible at science so I had no idea what Raymond's theories were about. I found some cases boring....some ok....and the last one with Raymond Wong was the best! (This have nothing to do with me as a biased fan of Raymond!) I thought this case was really interesting because he was not shown until the last minute. Nobody knew how he looked like or who he was because through the case, he'd be doing crimes on the computer. I wish the case could go on a bit longer because I really love the suspense it gave to the audience! This case are one of the 'great points' of the series.

Honestly I began to be impatient with the cases and I finally snapped when they came to the case....kinda basing on the Romeo/Juliet story. I skipped through that whole case (due to the fact...I've already heard to much of these kinda stories). I was kinda upset about it because it's the case with Fred Cheng in it and I really like him too...

The Police Crew
I love them so much! I was especially glad to see Jack Wu in it (even though he's not up there..). I liked how they supports each other and how they made fun of Tavia! I wish there was more towards their scenes though. But now there was scene (up there). Such a heart-warming moment.

Raymond or Kenneth
Answer is Kenneth. I preferred Kenneth's over Raymond's character. Kenneth's character was much more caring than Raymond's and that was kinda unexpected because he was suppose to be playing as a playboy. Personally, Raymond's was really plain. Though he had a good beginning and a good ending, Raymond's character lacks something in the middle....probably emotion? I don't like how he's too calm....his calmness wasn't exactly what I say 'cool', but more towards weak.

Kenneth - Quite obvious I like him since he's my fav actor. I'm glad to see tvb finally promoting him and also giving him the chance to play a villain =D Hehe, this is going to be good.

Raymond - Ever since Face to Fate, I've already liked him very much. I love him in those cheery and cute roles, but it seems like tvb had stopped giving him those roles =( They're now giving him these serious ones....and sadly, they are all boring. So now, I'm really, really hoping for an interesting role from him in An Uninvited Date.....also again costarring Tavia Yeung =) I haven't heard much of his character in there yet....but just seeing the pics already made him totally AWESOME!!!! Especially his evil-ish smile!! Could look at that all day xD

Tavia or Bernice?
I dunno....do I really have to choose? I love both =)

BK or FungYi?
If I can choose a fav. for the beginning and the end.....beginning would be FungYi and end would be BK. Though if it has to be overall, I'd say BK. FungYi was cute, but overall BK was more interesting to watch.

My fav Character.
Before I watched this, I thought it was either going to be Kenneth or Tavia....but in the end it wasn't. It ended up with Tavia's cute little nephew played by Lawrence Ng. Haha, this kid is adorable! I thought it was really cute how he was there talking about his problems while Tavia was talking about her own.

My fav. Relationship
BK was my fav. pairing....but fav relationship is Tavia's and Lawrence's nephew/aunt relationship!! Haha, I love it when they have scenes together very much!

Best Moments
-Tavia and her 'lost in love' behaviours when she and Raymond just started to date!! She was absolutely adorable!!!
-When Tavia and Raymond were stuck in the mountains. Best moment of Raymond's.
-Lawrence Ng's/Tavia together.
-When everybody mistook Kenneth for sleeping with a guy. Haha, that was just hilarious!
-Kenneth's jealousy over Adrian.
-Raymond Wong's case.
-Raymond's speech during the awards in the last ep.

Recommended or Not?
Personally I found it ok....but I've heard that many have really liked it. Did I found it enjoyable? yes I did. So that kinda average out to a yes. After finishing it, I did feel disappointed but when I thought it over, I guess I just expected too much and it wasn't actually that bad. Overall, it is not a series that will make you want to see 1 episode after another but I'd personally rate it at 2.8/5.

Sequel for MOL or not?
If it's just another series with the same cast, I'm totally in for it because I absolutely love the cast. But a sequel? I'd say no. I don't find anything to follow the series ending beside the fact that they all get married. I think that we should just end it here.
