Bernice Liu,
CTI
Receive a small glimpse of CTI's upcoming series (let's all hope that they're get their airing liscence soon).
Even though the previews of the series were rather short, the filming was good. The special effects (of the vampire) were not bad either.
Oh some good news, CTI will be holding a sales presentation event...sometime in December? I am very looking forward to see the full clips :D
READ ALL ABOUT THE SERIES (SYNOPSIS) ON ASIANUNIVERSE. I'm just going to talk about some that I find interesting...
• (M) AMAZING CENTURY - 驚異世紀 - 10 EPISODES (Genre: Suspense/Thriller)
Cast: Dominic Lam, Leila Tong, Lawrence Chow, Felix Lok, Samuel Kwok, Noel Yeung, Emily Wong, Alan Luk, Eddie Li
Editor: Alfred Yip (The Drive of Life, The Four, Born Rich, Wax and Wane)
Thoughts: If you've read the synopsis...it's all the reason why I want to watch this. Of course, Leila Tong is one of the reasons too.
• (M) FAIRYTALE LOVE SONG 201314 - 童話戀曲201314 - 20 EPISODES (Genre: Musical)
Cast: William So, Bernice Liu, Kelvin Kwan, Jason Chan (Pak Yu), Evelyn Choi, Sek Sau, Al Wai, Savio Tsang, Benji and Lesley, Zac Koo, Kate Yeung
Editor: Pion Leung (Forensic Heroes III, Yes Sir, Sorry Sir!, Daddy Good Deeds)
Thoughts: It's a musical! I've always wished that Bernice would release an album...because I think she've got a great voice. So I am really hoping to see her sing in here hehe.
AND OMG!! On that list...it's ZAC KOO! Is that THE Zac Koo I'm thinking off?!! If he is indeed the Zac Koo (Zac Kao) that I am thinking about, then he's the one who played as the arrogant but lovable inspector in D.I.E Again. lols for those of you who remember, he's the one who's always flipping his hair ;)
• (M) THREE FACE SHAPED DOCTOR - 三面形醫 - 20 EPISODES (Genre: Medical drama)
Cast: Frankie Lam, John Chiang, Al Wai, Carlos Chan, Kate Yeung, Sam Chan, Leanne Ho, Benji & Lesley, Queenie Chan
Thoughts: the plot sounds very interesting...

This year, TVB will be utilizing a ‘One Vote Per Person’ method to select the winners for the TV King and Queen (aka Best Actor / Actress) as well as Best Series awards -- however, in order for the audiences to choose the winners, first there has to be a list of nominees to pick from.
Nominations Lists [TN: Note that this is Mingpao’s supposed ‘confirmed’ version – we will need to wait and see if this truly matches TVB’s ‘official’ lists that will be revealed on November 21st]:
Best Actor (aka TV King)
Wayne Lai -- The Confidant
Moses Chan – The Last Steep Ascent
Kevin Cheng – Gloves Come Off
Kenneth Ma – The Hippocratic Crush
Raymond Lam – Highs and Lows
Bosco Wong – Witness Insecurity
Damian Lau – Silver Spoons, Sterling Shackles
Roger Kwok – Queen of Diamonds and Hearts
Joe Ma – Tiger Cubs
Raymond Wong – Gloves Come Off
Thoughts: Moses Chan should be nominated in When Heaven Burns instead. Even though I only watched bits and pieces of that series, it's still better/more interesting than his performance in The Last Steep Ascent. Even in MOP, I would approve.
Then there's Kevin Cheng, who's surprisingly not nominated in Ghetto Justice 2 instead.
Oh....surprise to see Roger Kwok on the list o.O btw where's Michael Mui?
Incredibly happy that Raymond Wong is nominated!! BUT why?!?! Why not Bottled Passion?! *rage*
Best Actress (aka TV Queen)
Michelle Yim – The Confidant
Charmaine Sheh – When Heaven Burns
Myolie Wu – Ghetto Justice 2
Tavia Yeung -- Silver Spoons, Sterling Shackles
Fala Chen -- Queen of Diamonds and Hearts
Linda Chung – Witness Insecurity
Kate Tsui – Highs and Lows
Aimee Chan – The Last Steep Ascent
Liza Wang – Divas in Distress
Niki Chow – Bottled Passion
Thoughts: Aimee Chan in The Last Steep Ascent?! *flips the table*
I am glad that tvb did not cross Charmaine off, since her performance as Hazel was great. The other impressive contender would be Michelle Yim (to be honest, I have not watch much of the series yet....but Michelle is always great :P so yah bias...haha).
Surprise to not see Idy Chan in here? Kinda I guess.
Favorite Male Character
Kevin Cheng -- Ghetto Justice 2
Moses Chan – The Last Steep Ascent

Kenneth Ma – The Hippocratic Crush
Bosco Wong – Witness Insecurity
Bobby Au Yeung – House of Harmony and Vengeance
Michael Miu -- Highs and Lows
Raymond Wong -- The Confidant
Damian Lau – Silver Spoons, Sterling Shackles
Thoughts: Once again....Raymond Wong from Bottled Passion!!?!! *extremely emotional* And Eric Li in Bottled Passion too? Q.Q
And why do I not see Joel Chan's character from The Last Steep Ascent or So Kei in here?!?
Ugh! *rips the nomination list*

Tavia Yeung -- The Hippocratic Crush
Kate Tsui – Highs and Lows
Fala Chen -- Queen of Diamonds and Hearts
Eliza Sam – Divas in Distress
Niki Chow – Bottled Passion
Thoughts: Ji Lam (Linda Chung) is not on here.....*tears*
Unfortunately, Samantha Ko's and Helena Law's roles in The Last Steep Ascent are too small to be nominated? They were too awesome!!!!!! Q.Q
Best Supporting Actor

Vincent Wong -- Silver Spoons, Sterling Shackles

.....and where is Q Bobo's name!? I think he deserves a nomination.
Best Supporting Actress
Mandy Wong -- L’Escargot
Rachel Kan – Master of Play
Mary Hon –Three Kingdoms RPG SSSS
Florence Kwok --King Maker No Good Either Way
Helena Law -- The Last Steep Ascent :D
Christine Kuo -- Ghetto Justice 2
Nancy Wu -- Gloves Come Off....personally think that The Confidant would give her a better standing.
Elena Kong -- Silver Spoons, Sterling Shackles
Eliza Sam -- Divas in Distress
Aimee Chan -- The Confidant
Thoughts: If I had to make some adjustments to the list... I would add in Elaine Yiu, Rebecca Chan and Mimi Chu.
And now....I no longer care.
Most Improved Male Artist
King Kong
Him Law
Edwin Siu
Oscar Leung
Vincent Wong
Most Improved Female Artist
Mandy Wong
Eliza Sam
Christine Kuo
Katy Kung
Cilla Lok
Thoughts: thank goodness this is not the "official" list...or so I hope.
I am not satisfy with the voting system at all. Personally think it would be better if the fav Characters are voted by the audience...which will make a lot more sense right? Since being "favourite" also means highest popularity, which is obviously what it's going to be like....
It's probably because I'm getting old....can no longer handle all this rage :P ahaha but yah...Don't really care for the awards anymore. I'm just going to write a post on who I think deserves the award....
And if you guys have noticed, the "Awards" poll I have been trying to pull off didn't work so well either. So I'll just be finishing up the poll for Top 10 Series and forget about the characters etc. :/

She's been working on this CD for several months and its going to be born soon. Nnadia frankly expressed she's having complex emotions, she laughed it feels like her first child is born, "but it also feels like I'm dating the CD. It's my dream lover!"
Nnadia expressed a company has contacted her with TV series offers, but unfortunately it did not work out. She spoke about her past, there was a period where things were not going smoothly for her, which included a failed relationship and worsen of the relationship with her company that caused problems with job offers. In addition, last year she had a big surgery that almost forced her to retire from her favorite job as an artist. She expressed with tears running down, "Before the surgery, the right side of my body was paralyzed, and after the surgery, the doctor told me it is best that I change professions. I started dancing at age 3, and have never thought one day I wouldn't be able to walk." Although her career and relationship didn't go so smoothly, she still won an international award for the French red wine she fermented. This was an additional gain for her and now she has learned to enjoy the beauty of life. As for her love life, just let nature take its course. The most important is to be happy.
Thoughts: I personally love Bernice alot. Really hope that she's happy and doing well in Mainland.

[News] Lawrence Ng Fell For Ada Choi: I Had Thought of Pursuing Her
Lawrence Ng entered the industry in 1983 after graduating from the 12th TVB Artistes Training Class. He started off playing villains and later switched to professional roles, such as doctors or strong businessmen. Lawrence frankly expressed he can fall for someone easily and therefore has had several rumors in the past with his co-stars. He was first rumored with his classmate Yammie Lam, then with Ada Choi in 1998 from Healing Hands, 2002 with Iva Law from Fate Twisters. Ada Choi's rumor drew the most attention. Although the two never officially developed a relationship, Lawrence admitted he really did fall in love with her!
LAWRENCE: "In 1998 I was shooting producer Gary Tang's Healing Hands. I portrayed neurosurgeon Dr. Ching Chi Mei (Paul), the role was very well-received and the pairing with Ada Choi was very popular. That year we won the Best On-Screen Partners award at the anniversary and even in 2001, we won the 'My Favorite On-Screen Partners' award for Healing Hands II. The pairing was well accepted and my "relationship" with Ada was even more expected.
Working with Ada, we really do indeed have a lot of chemistry, many people asked me if I developed actual feelings for her? At the time, neither of us were married yet, I saw she was a beautiful girl and pretty nice, I really did think about it! At the time, we continued collaborating in a few more times in other series and became friends. A couple starts off as friends, then develop mutual admiration and finally develop into deep love.
Although I am an actor, to me, acting and reality are actually about the same. Once the cameras start rolling, I treat it as if its real. In the series, I really did fall for Ada, but in real life she's actually very rough and mean, very much like a "big woman". Off screen, I really did have the feeling like love sparked, I really thought of pursuing her! Back then when we were in Files of Justice V, we were already playing a couple, then the second and third time was in Healing Hands. We slowly came into more contact, but Ada was upset because she said I only started talking to her after the second or third time we collaborated! That time, it was difficult to get out of character for me, perhaps I really had the feeling. I thought...actually Ada really isn't that rough after all! At the time, I didn't tell her [about the feelings]... I didn't have the courage to tell her! I have to really think about it first... we were initially good colleagues and if this ruins the relationship, that wouldn't be good! In the end, because I was afraid of damaging the relationship, the feelings eventually faded!
Then in Healing Hands III, we had already become very good friends. When Ada got married, she invited me to her wedding and usually when I come back to Hong Kong, I would go visit her too because I'm familiar with her husband (Max Zhang) too! We collaborated in a Mainland drama before, at the time the producer told me they were dating. I can say I watched them date and I'm happy that she found her Mr. Right. At the time, I also met my current wife (Sek Yeung Chi). Many fans have asked me about my "feelings" for Ada, and I have said it before on Weibo. Ada responded to me too, she said luckily I didn't actually liked her, otherwise I would be in such misery! Haha!
In 2002, when I collaborated with Iva Law in Fate Twisters, we developed feelings after seeing each other day and night. However, we were only together for a year. In between, I went to Beijing for work and found another girl, who was even more suitable for me. Unexpectedly the media started saying that I was a three-timer and called prostitutes. I was very upset, it was really hard to take. In the end, we broke up because of this incident."
Ada responded to Lawrence's confession that he did have feelings for her in the past. She said: "Of course I felt it. Actually I had several pursuers in this industry, I know clearly who I can only be friends with. After all, I won't risk losing my friendships!"
As Lawrence's good friend, Ada frankly expressed they have differences in their personalities, "It may not be his problem, it could be my problem. And I wanted to find a Christian boyfriend! (Convert him?) No, Lawrence was Christian too, but he later converted to Buddhism. But, Lawrence is a very loyal friend, he's a great friend. One time a PA asked us if he could borrow some money from us, but he sounded like he was lying to me, so I didn't agree to lend him the money. Lawrence, on the other hand, did lend him the money. Later, I asked Lawrence why he did that? Lawrence said the most important is to help the person first! So, I think he's a wonderful person!"

TVB's Rising Generation
info/list credits mikuo@asianfanatics
So...these are the artistes that tvb will focus on grooming to become the next siu sangs and fadans! What are your thoughts? :)
Top New Generation Artistes: Aimee Chan
: Edwin Siu
: Mandy Wong
: Tony Hung
Thoughts: I wonder why they have to distinguish the four to "Top New Generation Artistes"? Necessary?
6 New Siusangs
: Ruco Chan
: Raymond Wong
: Edwin Siu
: Jason Chan
: Oscar Leung
: Tony Hung
Thoughts: I thought Ruco Chan is quite obvious already...but they still had him on the list? Anyways...
Thumbs up for Ruco, Raymond, Edwin and Oscar! Their acting is already up to par of the leads, so not a big surprise here. Out of all of them though, Oscar is the only one that I feel is missing the leading aura...but super happy for him because he can act.
Jason Chan. Hmmm...I did not like him in No Good Either Way. Found him rather stiff but I guess it's his first "bad" role (think he tried to hard with his smirk and eye rolls), which are considerably harder to portray than the good guy. His new series with Linda, "Missing You", will be airing after SSSS...so let's see how he does in there.
Last but...not least? I don't even know who Tony Hung is o.O He's even in the "Top New Generation artistes"....but...wah?
Unmentioned favourites
-Vincent Wong, Benjamin Yuen and Matt Yeung. I also really like Sammy Shum since Lives of Omission and the recent ancient dramas too.
Surprise? Where's Him Law? o.O Wow...was so sure he'd be on the list but now, nowhere to be seen...hmm.
8 New Fadans
: Aimee Chan
: Mandy Wong
: Sire Ma
: Eliza Sam
: Christine Kuo
: Rebecca Zhu
: Lin Xiawei
: Cilla Kung
Aimee Chan
A star that tvb is obviously trying to push. I am personally fine with Aimee in light-hearted roles and she's improving with her emotional scenes. Overall, I am neutral towards her but she's definitely getting into the first line since tvb is really pushing her up.
Mandy Wong
Mandy is steadily reaching towards the first leading status and I am very happy that she've been able to take on a variety of roles. Out of all, her acting is no doubt the best but unfortunate that she's quite plain (just my opinion). You see her onscreen, but something is missing....? But I still support her to lead since her acting is the best so far.
Sire Ma
Sweet looking girl. The recent female artistes lacks the ancient look, but I think Sire Ma fits well into the ancient aura :) That's an advantage right? I really hope that tvb can give her some more roles in order to breakthrough.
Eliza Sum
Eliza got popular right after Divas in Distress. It's true that her acting was rather "new" in there but she surprisingly did very well in her first role. Maybe the role suited her personality? I don't know, but even in her emotional scenes...raw but still alright. The only scenes that looked a bit force was her bickering scenes. As for looks, I personally don't find her that pretty but she's cute. Got the potential to rise.
Christine Kuo
An obvious choice. Christine entered tvb in 2009 and signed a 6 years contract with them. So we'll be seeing her for the next 3 or more years. She definitely got the looks to make it far though, but unfortunately her acting is still quite stiff. Maybe it's the language barrier? In Ghetto Justice 2, during the scenes where she spoke in Mandarin with King Kong, she suddenly became natural again and seem quite comfortable onscreen. I do hope that she improve...but first of all, tvb need to give her lighter roles.
Rebecca Zhu
Her looks/presence fits the leading actress feeling. As for acting...too early to judge since I have only seen a few episode of her in SSSS.
Xia Wei
I have not seen any of her series yet so don't have much comments. I have been seeing alot of good comments about her though.
Cilia Kung
Unfortunate that she's typecasted into little sister roles due to her baby face. And I think that'll be her greatest challenge to face in order to rise. I like Cilia though, especially in Forensic Heroes 3.
Unmentioned favourite?
Oceane Zhu - I like her alot and think that she's got the potential in acting! She's also got the charisma and fits well in both ancient and modern dramas. Of course, the problem is the language barrier isn't it?
Surprise? JJ Jia?! o.O

The Confidant
So I just started on the first two episodes of The Confidant and here are my thoughts so far!
- Nancy Wu's character: Her character is a very loyal and righteous maid. Unfortunately those characteristics will ought to bring her trouble in the future. Anyways, I am so happy that Nancy in here and the fact that she's playing this character instead of an evil one. Really liking her character so far!
- Wayne Lai's character: Compared to his best friend, Raymond Cho's, Wayne Lai is not really ambitious at all. He just prefers to live a quiet life in the palace. But his character is not at all that simple as he's quite sharp....I'm quite eager to see how his character develops.
- Selena Li's character: She's the deceased emperor's concubine and is "isolated" (aka no power etc). Selena is very kind-hearted though and treats her servants like a family, especially Wayne and Nancy. Something interesting is that on every joyous occasion, a lecture will be given to her by the empress. I wonder what Selena did to deserve this punishment...?
-I love how Selena's palace (quarter) is unlike the others. All the servants treats each other as a family and whenever trouble comes, they'd stick together. From the spoilers though, we know that Selena will die....therefore this "family" will eventually be shattered. So what will become of them.....?
-Raymond Wong's character: Due to his mother's sickness, Raymond Wong asked for a leave from the head of the eunuch's, Power Chan. Without enough money to bribe him though, Power did not let Raymond go. Desperate, Raymond accidentally broke Power's valuable ring and got into a lot of trouble.
After making an escape, Raymond ran into Nancy and asked her for help. Nancy of course helped him, and so did the rest of Selena's servants. When Power came to their place and demanded them to hand over Raymond, Selena even stepped in to defend him. Unfortunately, Selena only have status and really no power...she was even looked down upon by Power and his uncle (director of the eunuchs).
After they took away Raymond and the rest of Selena's servants (since they tried to protect Raymond), Selena went straight to the Empress for justice. In the end, Raymond was permitted to go see his mom (who already passed away) one last time at the funeral. It was very sweet how Wayne, Nancy and all the others went to see him off.
Later, Wayne got news that the deceased emperor's concubines were finally allowed to leave the palace after years of mourning. Selena was very excited and eager to leave the palace....hoping for a new life.
Oh may I mention that Selena did have a child, who died of some kind of disease when he was young. If he had lived, he wouldv'e been the crown prince instead of the empress's son. Sketchy isn't it? We even got a glimpse of a retired eunuch's paranoid reaction when the dead prince was mentioned. He worked for the empress before too....something is going on here. Obviously the prince's death was not of a natural cause...and I'm wondering if Selena knows that or not.
We later find out that Wayne got sold to the palace due to his father's gambling addiction. Unfortunately his father still won't stop gambling afterwards and Wayne is doing everything he can to prevent him from selling his younger brother too. Ugh...that father should just go die. If you're going to be so irresponsible then don't have kids =.=
Luckily with the help of his friend, Raymond Cho and their master, Wayne was able to gather enough money to save his little brother. Just when he was going to pay back the debt though, Selena called for him. After a long wait for a notice that she could leave the palace like the other concubines, Selena still haven't receive it so therefor decided to go see the empress for an answer.
So Wayne ended up going with Selena....I wonder what will happen to his family now.

The Confidant
Totally loving the themesong! Very nice and soothing :) For some reason, I especially like how she hummed in the end....that created this eerie feeling.
TVB 2013 Calendar
My parents have been nagging me about getting new glasses...and I guess they're right. My prescription is probably way off, since I do not seem to spot any differences between the "official" calendar and the leaked ones :P So much for, " Mr. Tsang expressed the calendar is currently under post-production and has not reach completion of the final version yet."-source
Ok to be honest....it was quite expected that the leak was truly the "official" version, but after the negative feedbacks, you'd think that they'd at least do a little bit of editing (no hope of a re-shoot :P)
Despite my disappointment though, I still want one....because of the artistes.
January
Ok, I am wrong. They did put in the sparks here :P
Anyways, liking the artistes attire but Linda is so....isolated! She's also smiling while the others are trying the cool look. I wonder why they didn't keep THIS POSE instead.
February
The part of Tavia and Fala is cute, but I do not like how the men are standing off to the side. Such a cheesy background too :/
March
I like the background of this one more, but some of the ladies poses are really strange (especially Sharon's).
April
Personally think this is one of the better ones. Wow...I am impress that Him Law can run backwards :P or is he trying to run the other direction...going to knock Jason down then. eh.
May
The ladies looks very elegant...but abit plain? Well, at least it's nice and not weird x)
June
A simply pose but it's like "May", it is still nice.
July
Sonija Kwok :) The background is too bright for my liking....not a fan of Tracy's pose either :/
August
They look like dolls...do not like how "plastic" looking their legs are.
September
Nothing special, but I like it :)
October
The moment you realize that tvb's really lacking star power....bringing in hosts.
November
Really like Myolie's dress!!! hehe I love purple. But that cannot save a bad picture ;P
December
My personal favourite because it looks the most "natural".
