Tvb Awards Thoughts...so far

There have been much discussion about who will be this year's TV Queen and I have also put up a poll about it. (thanks to everyone who voted!) And the results (so far) can be seen at the side bar (won't end till the awards time).

I really want to share some of my thoughts but please do note that these are just my personal opinions only. So please do not get offended. Thanks :)

From the start, I knew that Linda Chung and Tavia Yeung would be the two hot favourites for votes, but from the poll, we can see Fala Chen's popularity is boosting up too (assuming from LOO?)....

Linda Chung: I am a big fan of Linda (as many prob. notice due to my site of hers) but I still feel that it still would be better for Linda to wait another year or so. Even though Linda got the audience's hearts with her role as Miss Koo but yet....it would feel much more deserving if she gets the favourite female character award for it instead, which I definitely support her for :)

Myolie Wu: I have not seen Myolie for a long time, but you could say that I am really happy to see her back on screen! Out of all, I feel that she have the highest chance to win the title. would I support her for the crown though? I am not sure since I am still awaiting to see her performance in Curse of the Royal Harem. Myolie definitely have great comedic skills but there are still more sides of her that I wish to see, and that's what I'm hoping to get from her evil role in Harem, since evil roles can be hard to handle.

Tavia Yeung: Tavia have been in the industry for so long and many support her. I am one of those people because I am a big fan of hers! But from what I see, I still think that this still isn't her year yet (notice I have not watch MWNS yet....so opinion might change when I do). Tavia have a big acting foundation but yet....she can only shine in supporting roles. Ever since Tavia started to take on lead roles, I've felt a longing to see her old series again. There just haven't been a "leading" presence of her yet....maybe the blame can be put on her boring characters, but I think luck is what is needed in the entertainment industry too (even though it can be taken as unfair). At first it took Tavia 10 years to make a breakthrough and got notice with her role in MR....maybe it's the same with this situation. Right now is just not the time yet....but when it is, Tavia will definitely be holding the crown. (kinda reminding me of Wayne Lai now ;D)

Fala Chen: Fala does show versatility with the different roles she have been playing and she've slowly becoming my favourites. Though I do really love her, I still think Fala can use a few more years to fully establish her acting foundation with more experience in different types of roles. There have been both criticisms and recognition of her role in Lives of Omission, which I felt...sadly a bit disappointed about. She did not do bad, but she did not act out the role that great either. To me, a tv queen can't just be good, because what use is it of an award to someone who just does good? They have to excel. Please be aware that I am not directing at just Fala, but this is really the reason why I feel that none (so far) on the list should truly get this award. Overall I do think that Fala is still behind the others, so a few more years won't do her bad but I think will end up really rewarding :)

Charmaine Sheh - I've always found Charmaine to be a great actress but sadly she is leaving tvb :( So I guess....even if I wanted her to win, tvb wouldn't even consider it? :P Haha jokes away...based on this year, Charmaine's performance was not phenomenal. I do feel bad for the criticisms towards her though...it is not easy to play a mentally challenged character and it's even harder when you consider Roger's fame with his role in Square Pegs and A Simple Life (definitely ignites comparison). Now...even the highly anticipated series, Heaven and Earth is scheduled to air AFTER Forensic Heroes 3....doesn't that mean after the awards? With such a big cast...I did not expect that to happen :/

Personal Choose: So it's quite obvious that I don't feel that anybody on the list should win the award. Instead I find it quite sad how they're pulling the fadans into all the news...and the video I previously posted.....and focusing entirely on them because of Charmaine's leave. I understand they're hot favourites, but there are other actresses too right? One actress I notice is Elena Kong. I first noticed her in No Regrets and have found a deep liking towards her since. I think that she's a great actress with solid acting in all her roles. Definitely not possible though for her to be tv queen, but I would love to see her win Best Supporting Actress this year. I am definitely supporting her!

Now enough of the gals, let's talk about the men. Michael Tse, Raymond Lam and Wayne Lai are considerably the hot favourites this year. Out of the 3 though, I've only seen Michael Tse...so my comment shall be about him.

In a recent interview clip of Michael Tse, I've seen alot of people commenting on how arrogant he sounds in the clip. I personally have not seen the clip nor do I pay attention to his news, so acting wise, I've always think Michael as a solid actor. I have seen him in so many types of characters and he have always been one of my favourite supporting actors back then. Deserving of this award? I think he does.

Joe Ma and Steven Ma are the other 2 that I would also support. Though Steven might not have very good characters this year, seeing from his previous works...I believe Steven is deserving of this award.

Other Awards Thoughts (personal opinions)

Most Improved Actor: Ruco Chan/Bosco Wong
Most Improved Actress: Selena Li (wonder when Selena is ever going to get this...)
Best Supporting Actor: Derek Kwok/Damien Lau (though there was not much of Derek this year...looking back at all the other years though, I feel that it would be very deserving for him to receive the award)
Best Supporting Actress: Elena Kong (River of Wine, Lives of Omission)
Favourite Female Character: Linda Chung (YSNS)
FAvourite Male Character: Kevin Cheng (Only You, Ghetto Justice)

Just my thoughts lar....since Michael Tse said Steven childish, will hsi attitude make his TV King chance's ranking drop ?I wanted to support him but after his words to Steven,I'll support Bosco for TV King, most improved actor,Raymond Wong/Ruco Chan....My favourite character Linda Koo XD....wish Michael Tse apologized to Steven in public and TVB sign a new contract with high salary and Michael can't say Steven childish *Steven have more main roles than Michael :P*....

LAWL, glad that people actually recognise Elena's acting skills! Love her, I think she's a great actress deserving of lead roles in the near future! ^^ I hope she gets Best Supporting for River of Wine. I know it won't happen though.
